Aux Anysetiers du Roy was first a restaurant in L'Ile Saint-Louis, near Notre-Dame. It specialized in Provençal cooking, and was one of the first to offer grilled meats seasoned with Provençal herbs. At the end of dinner, each customer was offered a small gift – a small Herbs de Provence crock, containing a special blend prepared by owner Louis Lombard, who was the first to include lavender flowers in the now-famous aromatic herb blend. The sweet sentiment of this little crock was the inspiration to produce this line of specialty items.
The crocks are created and filled by hand and are a joy to give. These little crocks work beautifully in baskets and are irresistible on a shelf.
